To spite what is true,
you hold on to you.
No secrets, they're all gone.
You vainly drown in what once used
to be beautiful.
The regrets that haunt you, too,
spring from deep - a fountain woe -
but it's not impossible to drink.
You endure every day
like any day, any way,
your ailments compound
until the weight of your mistakes
jolts you awake
and you feel it
turn into something new.
To heal, to delight,
to do what is right.
Insincerely held roles
to make your small world rotate.
But what is one to do
when there is a whole lifetime owed to you?
There it waits - a fountain woe -
and it's not impossible to drink.

The rule of silence is this:

your words with a sound.

Constant searing pain -

Convalescing
somewhere far away
from the light of day.

even in your
loved ones' memories?

They are gathered there
whereas I am gathered here.
Just a part of a crowd,
yet I stand alone.
They join their hands as one,
comfort in unison,
and heartbeats synchronize
to some common rhythm.
In their inner circle
I just don't belong.
Just being here feels
like there's something wrong.
Why am I so detached
from what's going on?
It makes me feel
like there is something wrong with me.
Still lingering around,
I try to play my part.
While they sway mesmerized,
I'm indecisive.
This is the hour of mistakes.
I find myself apart
from their warmth.
Hear something sinister
in their laugh.
Read something sinister
in their eyes.
A joyless communion
made out of lies.
Each time I pretend,
something of me dies.
They are gathered there
whereas I am gathered here.
Just a part of a crowd,
yet I stand alone.
I may wander around
but never stray too far.

What once may have hurt...
It's in the past now.
For good.
(Ready to move on?)
Solemnly wait
for the pain to abate.
Process of time
scornful souls purifies.
All-binding force
closes up old wounds.
Yet do I even
have a choice?
All moves on. (Therefore...)
I've moved on.
(Have I?)
These are just moments
built out of sand.
They'll shift
once the tide returns again.
In time...
All of those old dreams
made out of air.
Left behind in the march
from foul to fair.
In time...
In time - all bonds will fray and disappear.
In time - there's nothing that will keep us here.
Curse or a blessing, I couldn't say.
Perhaps I'll find the words in time.
In time...
